Symptom: Grok won't hand tasks to Grok Bot.
Fix: Grok Bot needs a SuperGrok subscription on the Grok account signed into the car, plus Grok Bot set up with that same Grok account linked (Tesla's support page). At launch it was limited to SuperGrok Heavy. See the Grok Bot in Tesla guide for the full checklist.

Symptom: In-car Grok used to reach your Bots, then started saying it can't, or asks for SuperGrok. Owners on X Premium+ reported this around Oct 14 to 15, 2026, one of them right after installing the Halloween update (2026.38.5).
Fix: Tesla's support page lists a SuperGrok subscription on the Grok account signed into the car. X Premium+ can be linked to Grok Bot on the Grok Bot side (Cursor help), but Tesla's page does not list it for the car. No official statement explains the change. If you need in-car Grok Bot now, the documented path is SuperGrok on the same Grok account the car is signed into. We have not confirmed whether Tesla will restore Premium+ access.

Requirement is from Tesla's page (high). The change after the update comes from owner reports only (low).

Symptom: The car says Grok Bot needs Grok Heavy, even after you moved to a new plan.
Fix: At the Sept 22, 2026 launch, Grok Bot in Tesla was limited to SuperGrok Heavy. Tesla's support page now says SuperGrok. Make sure the car has the latest software, then sign out of Grok in the car and sign back in with the account that holds your plan. The X Subscription (launched Oct 12) replaced the old plans for new sign-ups, and neither Tesla nor SpaceXSI has said whether its Premium, Super or Ultra plans unlock Grok Bot in a personal Tesla (Teslarati, Oct 13). No confirmed fix yet for unified accounts.

Symptom: Grok in the car doesn't know your named Bots, or acts like it's on a separate account.
Fix: The car and Grok Bot must use the same Grok account. Check three things: the car is signed in (Grok on the touchscreen > Sign In, finish on your phone in the Grok app); Grok Bot is set up with that same Grok account linked; that account has SuperGrok. Then ask for the Bot by name. A SuperGrok link to Grok Bot is permanent and can't be moved to another Cursor account, so link the right one.
